Pegasus races planned for Gulfstream and Santa Anita in 2024

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) After seven Pegasus World Cup events, it's evidently time for change.

1/ST Racing, which has hosted the entirety of the Pegasus series to this point at Gulfstream Park, is planning for two Pegasus days in 2024 - one at Gulfstream and the other at Santa Anita. Details aren't finalized and it's unclear how it would fit in the racing calendar, but 1/ST is planning for both dirt and turf Pegasus races as part of the Santa Anita program. (MORE)

Arabian Knight earns Baffert record 6th win in Southwest

Jockey Manny Franco ties mark with 6 wins on Aqueduct card

NEW YORK (AP) Jockey Manny Franco tied a New York Racing Association record with six victories on Friday's nine-race card at Aqueduct.

The 28-year-old rider from Puerto Rico tied a mark shared by Hall of Famers Steve Cauthen, Angel Cordero Jr., Javier Castellano, Mike Smith and Ron Turcotte, as well as Dylan Davis. (MORE)

NEW YORK (AP) In a story published Jan. 6, 2023, about jockey Manny Franco winning six races in one day at Aqueduct, The Associated Press, relying on information provided by the New York Racing Association, erroneously reported that Dylan Davis was one of several jockeys to have achieved the same feat, doing it twice in 2018. Breeders' Cup returns to Santa Anita for record 11th time

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) The Breeders' Cup will return to Santa Anita for a record 11th time in 2023.

The world championships will mark their 40th anniversary next year on Nov. 3 and 4 at the Southern California track. (MORE)
